Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! What a privilege to work alongside all of you in these past few months. FHL Week 2009 was the largest impact we had in terms of number of salvations, people we touched, and projects completed and generated. The overall value of our projects and services in all categories saw significant improvement. It truly became a Year of Hope for many in Indianapolis and the hope within us became the tangible expression of God’s love to His people. Heaven came down and His Presence was evident in our communities.
Words cannot adequately express the miracles that happened (and are still happening) during of Faith, Hope and Love Week 2009. But here is a partial list below:
- 2 communities were transformed both spiritually & physically (Riverwood & Elizaville)
- 25 individuals were brought to salvation
- Creative miracles were witnessed, such as:
- people who were in wheelchairs started to gain strength in their legs and started pushing their own wheelchair (or jumped)
- transformed individuals
- Countless projects were generated for continuance after FHL Week 2009
- Numerous new relationships were started
- FHL reached out even farther to areas such as:
- Lebanon
- Avon
- North of Noblesville
- More businesses provided resources
- The Indianapolis Deputy Mayor preached the Gospel at the Circle in front of the general public
Thank you so much for allowing me to serve with you. As I mentioned in the past, FHL Week is just a beginning of the continued flow of God’s blessings to our communities. In the weeks to come, I would like to touch base with you to see FHL could serve with you or how you could join us in serving together.
I am sure that it is almost impossible for me to thank everyone personally so please extend my sincere gratitude. It’s been and will be my honor to work alongside with you again!
FHL Week 2010 is July 25-31, The Year of Love
Eph. 6:23-24, “Peace to the brothers (and sisters), and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.”

Day 2: FHL Week 2009
2009 FHL Week Day 2
Monday the 20th was an exciting day! I had the opportunity to join the Nora-Castleton & Urban area gathering:
* The worship and fellowship was incredible at E91st.
* The Prayer coach was parked at 10th/Rural and 5 people accepted the Lord as their Lord and savior.
* More than 500 cold drinks and dozens of brand new t-shirts were given away.
* A ramp on the East side of town was started by the SAW Ministry
* A group of 70+ youth served the inner city
* Several projects were started at Elizaville
* A group of youth from Michigan through the partnership with Work Camp (Weeks of Hope) helped the West side area.
* The Noblesville area had a great start at the Riverwood community
* Some Carmel-Westfield local missionaries helped out at the Northwest area.
It was a day full of blessing and favor. The volunteers distributed God’s blessings in Central Indiana.
We are just starting the FHL Week and many relationships have been formed.

By Merlin Gonzales, President, Faith Hope and Love (FHL International, Inc.)
Faith Hope and Love (FHL) joined the Mother’s Day Celebration presented by La Voz de Indiana on Saturday, May 9th. The celebration included FHL Mobile Food Pantry, which provided groceries to more than 1000 people. It was truly a collaborative pantry, including many volunteers from different cultures of the world, such as Hispanics, Asians and Europeans. The FHL Mobile Food Pantry is a monthly service that is held at different parts of the city to reach out those who cannot travel far and to encourage the active participation of local communities. The food pantry is joined by churches, businesses, government and education institutions in serving the least, the lost and the last. You are encouraged to serve with FHL by volunteering or by sponsoring families. Your contribution of $15 will feed a family of 5 for a day.
Earlier the same day, as part of the Mother’s Day celebration, Faith Hope and Love provided free oil changes at four Indianapolis locations: Post Road Christian Church on the east side, Chapel Rock Christian Church on the west, and Hubler Express Collision in the North and South locations. More than 100 single moms received free oil changes. Through this community outreach, many volunteers were thankful that their passion was used to serve others. FHL is now looking for volunteers who like to do routine maintenance and minor repair on vehicles. FHL is expanding its car ministry to 4 locations in Indianapolis.
In addition to food pantry and oil changes, the FHL Street Evangelism team shared the Gospel in the 10th Street/Rural area. As a result, an individual at a bus stop accepted the Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. The individuals involved in this team have been preaching the gospel in the local area for more than 2 years now.
Faith Hope and Love partnered with the Pacer Entertainment–Indiana Fever WNBA to provided indoor entertainment to the disadvantaged families and their friends. FHL is asking the community to sponsor children for the game at Conseco Fieldhouse on June 27th 7pm. A ticket is $14, which includes entrance to the game, vouchers for a free hotdog, a bag of chips, a drink and a t-shirt. Contact FHL at 317-578-3370 for information in sponsoring the disadvantaged.

Hello everyone,
It’s been a great week.
We had the Fishers Area churches (FHL Week 2009) meeting at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church, NW area and Greenwood areas. They were attended by several churches and are now planning to meet again in the next few weeks. The week of 3/22, Nora-Castleton and Carmel areas will meet for FHL Week 2009 vision-casting.
The FHL Lamb’s Farm was cultivated and we planted seeds on several garden plots. The Burmese Refugees adopted the gardens. Later the same day, the Lord provided almost 30 jobs for these refugees at Heartland Growers through FHL connections. It is possible that we may have a few more acres to raise vegetables in the near future.
FHL’s ESL (English as a Second Language) has expanded to a Chic-Fil-A restaurant located in the Clearwater area. We will be teaching basic English to the employees at 86th St restaurant starting the first week of April.
On the 21st of March, FHL Mobile Food Pantry was held at Arlington High School. We had more than 100 volunteers including the Arlington High School Baseball Team. We served more than 150 families from several different nationalities including Iraquis, Burmese, and Hispanics. Food was abundantly shared with people but the main focus was the relationships we built with each other. To help these ones build a relationship with their heavenly Father, we also had a ‘Prayer Tent’ inside the building.
Next weekend, 3/28, we will have a ‘Prayer Tent’ at a vacant lot at 10th/Rural from 10a-2p. Through April 2 – 4 is FHL’s Kindness Weekend at Bread of Life in Avon, IN. We will be giving away clothes provided by the church. On 4/4, the 3rd FHL city-wide prayer meeting will be held at Bread of Life starting at 7:30pm.
I am so blessed to be part of this ministry. I have the privilege of witnessing what God is doing in our community. Thank you so much for coming alongside FHL in serving the least, the lost and last. If you have not been to any of the FHL events, try to come to the next few; you’ll witness what God is doing through FHL ministry.
Hope to see everyone at the Outback Luncheon on 3/25; it’s going to be awesome!
God bless,
Merlin
FHL City-Wide (Indianapolis) Prayer Initiative: Saturday, January 24, 2009
FHL International, Inc. (Faith, Hope, and Love International) was established as a means to strengthen the work of the local church by providing opportunities for local congregations and ministries to lock arms in service to the city and communities of Greater Indianapolis. Today, we recognize and feel the urgent need to respond and join in with the Lord’s command to “pray without ceasing” and we are partnering with God and His people to do just that.
Jeremiah 29:7 says, “If there is no welfare (peace) in the city to which you have been exiled, pray for the welfare (peace) of that city, and you too will have welfare (peace).”
